Senate
President David Mark has described the endemic nature of polio in certain parts
of the country as a major embarrassment.
Mark was
speaking in Abuja yesterday while receiving the incoming and outgoing governors
of the Rotary Club International District 9125. He said, “it’s a major
embarrassment that Nigeria is one of the three polio most affected countries.”
Speaking
further, the senate president said, “it is ungodly for some elite to
mislead the uninformed. We must do all we can in collaboration with voluntary
organizations or non-governmental organizations to eradicate polio and remove
this shame and embarrassment.
