Transparency Int'l Rates President Goodluck govt as Best, Says Buhari, Obasanjo govt worse

According to Transparency International’s data from 1979 till date, the tenures of both General Muhammadu Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo were more corrupt than the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The data also showed that under the administration of President Jonathan, Nigeria has recorded its best score in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) since 1979. This is in complete contrast to the sordid picture of rampant corruption being painted by the opposition, ardent critics of the Jonathan administration and much of the media in the last few years – especially in the build up to the general elections.

A Wealthy American Dentist Killed the Famous Lion Cecil In Zimbabwe

An American dentist with an affinity for killing rare wildlife using a bow and arrow has been identified as the man who shot and killed Zimbabwe's most famous lion earlier this month, local officials claim.
Dr. Walter Palmer, a dentist working in Bloomington, Minnesota, is said to have paid $55,000 to hunt the 13-year-old lion, named Cecil, according to a report from The Telegraph. The animal was allegedly lured with meat out of Hwange National Park -- a protected area that bans hunting -- into an adjacent hunting zone where he was shot with an arrow. The lion was then followed for 40 hours before he was ultimately killed with a rifle.
The Zimbabwe tourism department also sent out a tweet early Tuesday identifying Palmer as the man who killed Cecil, using the hashtag #illegalhunt.

Revealed: United States disappointed with Buhari’s visit

The concealed fragments of President Muhammad Buhari’s exorbitant visit to the United State are beginning to emerge, and stakes are not looking too good. Sources reveal that the White House is completely disappointed about a total lack of preparedness by the Nigerian contingent to discuss vital issues about both countries. The Obama administration also decried a poor presentation of policy needs and updates made by the Nigerian leader. “May be we are not reading from the same script, but the overall message by Barack is that they should go get themselves together, then get back with us,” a White House insider said. “We are just being polite about this because your President doesn’t seem to understand a whole lot about government,” confided another source.

SpaceX Falcon breaks up during ISS resupply launch (VIDEO)

Shortly after launch today, SpaceX's Falcon launch vehicle suffered a catastrophic failure. NASA's monitoring confirmed that the Falcon had broken up, something that was pretty obvious based on the live coverage of the launch. Prior to the failure just over two minutes into the flight, things had appeared to be going smoothly.
SpaceX control has announced that it is currently gathering data and evaluating video of the failure. It's hoping to host a press conference later today once that preliminary analysis is complete, but that will take place no earlier than 12:30 pm local time at Kennedy Space Center. Ars will have a reporter at the press conference, so check back later today.
