Nigeria's oldest airline, Aero Contractors has
reportedly changed its name to Nigerian Eagle and will be
the national carrier. A Boeing 737-500 wearing the national colours is
currently parked in a private hangar at the Murtala Muhammed International
Airport, Lagos. The new national carrier will be unveiled in the coming days.

If you
have been following the news, you would have heard that Nigeria’s oldest
airline Aero Contractors has transmuted to a national carrier to be known as
‘Nigerian Eagle’.

of the aircraft to be launched this week by the president.
The launch
was delayed due to President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the London. The
aircraft a Boeing 737-500 wearing the national colours is parked in a private
hangar at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The new
airline is owned jointly by the Federal Government through (Asset Management
Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) and the Ibru family with the former owning 60%
and the latter owning 40%.
