Lauryn Hill
may be evicted from her South Orange, N.J. mansion just days after she pled
guilty to tax fraud, TMZ reports.
The Fugees singer, 37,
has been renting the mansion since 2009, but her landlord alleges Hill stopped
paying her rent last month. Her landlord has subsequently filed suit forcing
Hill to either pay her rent immediately or move out of the mansion.
Hill is scheduled to be
sentenced next week for tax fraud, and faces up to three years in prison.
Hill made headlines
earlier this week when she filed papers saying that she didn't file tax returns
in 2005, 2006 and 2007 because "she withdrew from society at large due to
what she perceived as manipulation and very real threats to herself and her
family."
Hill has requested
probation, instead of jail time, so that she can pay off her debt more quickly.
